$8,450 to support a program designed to help childcare providers interested in obtaining a 4-year degree to prepare for the PRAXIS exam.

$2,500 to support Every Child Ready to Read at Your Library in Spartanburg County.

Southern Institute on Children and Families

$5,000 to support the Upstate Employer Initiative, a project to gather employers’ views regarding issues such as childcare that affect the ability of low-income workers to be stable and productive on the job.

$210,000 to support several early education projects, including planning for an early education lab school, continuing and expanding the Quality Institute, and building the Early Education Network.

$57,000 to support a project that will include 1) a communications workshop for local nonprofits and MBF grantees, 2) research with SC legislators, and 3) an educational program for community and business leaders on early childhood development.
